Project Type: Publication Design
Client Simulation: University of Central Florida – Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (Fictional)
Goal:
Design a fictional scientific newsletter called Recombination, complete with a professional masthead and editorial layout, to simulate a real client-based publication workflow.
Process:
For this project, the instructor acted as a mock client and communicated only through email. I was tasked with organizing content, designing the masthead, and building a clean, readable newsletter layout suitable for an academic audience.
The challenge came from working under realistic communication constraints—assets arrived out of order, files were mislabeled, and new sections were introduced at the last minute. This required strong attention to detail, version control, and design adaptability.

Outcome:
The final design successfully captured the professional tone of a scientific publication while maintaining a clear visual hierarchy and cohesive layout. The project reinforced the importance of organization, communication, and flexibility in handling client-driven design challenges.
