The 1966 Amphicar 700

The Amphicar 700 was a unique German-engineered vehicle built between 1961–1968, famous for being the world’s first mass-produced amphibious car. Equipped with a 4-cylinder Triumph engine, it could reach speeds of about 70 mph on land and 7 knots on water - earning it the nickname “the car that swims.” With fewer than 4,000 ever made, the 1966 model represents a rare blend of playful design and innovative engineering that continues to capture the imagination of collectors and enthusiasts today.

To showcase this one-of-a-kind vehicle, I designed a dedicated auction campaign that included a custom landing page, homepage banners, social media ads, and promotional emails for both the preview and live phases. The visuals emphasized the Amphicar’s dual personality, balancing nostalgia with novelty, while the copy highlighted its rarity and craftsmanship. The result was a polished, cohesive campaign that not only celebrated a remarkable piece of automotive history but also reinforced PropertyRoom’s ability to present distinctive, high-value auctions with style and impact.
